CO-VISION - Mapping the natural heritage is a cooperation project which, through the strategy of participation in culture, aims to create and co-produce cultural content and the artistic digital archive of the EU. The project aims to map the current state of health of our European natural heritage with the aim of fostering deep awareness of the climate crisis, encouraging sustainable behavior and ensuring that part of the endangered natural heritage is preserved for future generations. The project is driven by the intention to create a story about climate change to encourage sustainable habits, valorize and map local natural heritage by creating collaboration between research, artistic creativity, the digital sphere and citizens, create installations and digital content in collaboration with artists and communities across Europe, and co-creates, in the first phase, with the main goal of young people and young adults between the ages of 14 and 45 who will be the initiators of change.

Alongside four technical partners (Instituto Europeo di Design IT, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences FI, Mapa Das Ideias PT, Norwegian University of Science and Technology NO) and eight artistic partners (Videocitta IT, LAB852 HR, Athens Digital Arts Festival GR, Transylvania Trust ROU, Rencontres Audiovisuelles FR, Kikk Festival BE, Signal Festival CZ and Eufonic Festival ESP) Co-Vision merges the creation of digital artistic works with research and the creation of a digital archive.

Through Co-Vision collaboration, we are organizing an immersive exhibition experience titled "Making the Invisible - Visible".

EXHIBITION:
Dobrović House (Jelsa Municipal Museum Gallery / HDD, partnering festivals tbc)

Making the Invisible – Visible is the name of a multi-layered informative and educational exhibition intended to raise environmental awareness among the audience, in collaboration with Ivan Marušić Klif and Francisca Rocha Goncalves. The starting point is the long-term research of Dr. Zrinka Ljubešić on the natural phenomenon of Island-Trapped Waves and their impact on primary production.

Island-Trapped Waves are a phenomenon that occurs in only a few island locations in the world (Hawaii, Bermuda, Gotland, Lastovo), which makes them rare and valuable precisely because of their significant positive impact on the environment and global ecosystems. The point is that the geographical position of the island of Lastovo in relation to the Adriatic sea currents creates a specific micro-situation in which the production of marine bioorganisms increases significantly compared to typical conditions, thus contributing to the much-needed regeneration of nature. In order to protect this valuable regenerative area, with this project, the artists want to support scientists in encouraging the regulation of no-take zones (areas of limited fishing, mining, drilling, etc.). Accordingly, our goal is to inform the public about the value of preserving marine ecosystems, as well as to establish cooperation with partners who support efforts to protect marine areas and their role for life on earth in the context of rapid climate change.
